A Semantic Web Developer for the Consumer Science & Intelligent Systems Group.
You will work as an intelligent systems developer within a creative and innovative environment. We carry out projects that disclose and exploit knowledge and information in the area of agrifood. As informatics experts, we work closely with food researchers and process technologists. Not only technological but also social and business aspects are important. We are a professional organization with an informal work atmosphere.
As a semantic web developer, you will develop knowledge intensive applications to effectively share and make use of information and data. We carry out assignments for the agrifood industry. We provide support for primary business processes as well as R&D, at national and international level. A noteworthy example is the development of Tiffany, a system that supports the sharing of knowledge in food research at TI Food and Nutrition.
Requirements
For this position we need someone who has completed an academic education (with several years of experience or a PhD degree), preferably with an informatics background specializing in Knowledge Representation. In addition, you are well acquainted with Java, Semantic Web technology (Sesame/SPARQL) and proficient in conceptual modelling. You are familiar with the principles of Agile software development. You have a keen interest to use these technologies to solve problems in the agrifood field. In addition, experience in publication is essential.
You are able to place yourself in the position of our clients. You are good in analytical and conceptual thinking and you can communicate your views clearly. You like to work within multidisciplinary teams and consider it a challenge to keep developing and expanding your knowledge, for example in semantics and information. Enthusiasm, perseverance and also a sense of humour are important requirements for functioning well. You can work independently and in a team, and view quality as very important.
Conditions of employment
We offer a position with an average of 36 work hours per week, a gross salary of € 4374,- per month for a complete work week (salary scale 10/11).
The duration of employment will be for an initial period of 1 year, with the possibility of extension for 3 years.
We not only offer a competitive salary but also good (study) leave and a pension of the ABP Pension Fund.
